The following installation is for a garden lawn. For other installations please contact us. We can lay the synthetic grass over various surfaces.
Step1: Accurately measure the dimensions of your garden. If the area is an unusual shape measure the area in seperate squares. Contact us once dimensions are known so that we can work out the amount of turf required. Note: the turf comes in 4m wide and 2m wide so there may be a certain amount of wastage. Please make sure your measurements are accurate - you will have to pay for any extra turf or be left short.
Step2: Remove turf and soil to required depth ‘see base required below’ - note:Add artificial turf depth and base depth required and remove the total amount - (unless you are raising the lawn.)
Step 3: Lay separation membrane over entire area (membrane should be free draining and not plastic sheet)
Step 4: Lay 50mm or 25mm aggregate base layers. For 50mm base - lay 35mm type 1 mot and compact, lay 15mm sharp sand on top. For 25mm base - lay10mm shingle base and 15mm sharp sand.
Step 5: Compact and smooth aggregate. You will need to use a whacker plate or roller to compact. Smoothing can be achieved by using a roller, tru lute or back of a rake. Alternatively transport the aggregate onto the area and for a small charge we will prepare base.
